At the end of August, I posted on Instagram one tip for success and it was to have an intentional morning routine.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I am an avid reader and I love sharing book reviews/recommendations with my followers. In many books that I’ve read on personal development a morning routine is talked about.
But why is a morning routine important to success? Because it will set the tone for the rest of the day.
Think about it – when you wake up frantic, in a rush, or something happens in the morning that wasn’t planned, how do you usually feel the rest of the day? You feel off, right? And then that leads to more things happening unplanned throughout the day.
But if you have an intentional routine in the morning, you’re calmer, you know what is going to happen next, and your day will go much more smoothly.
Obviously, there will be times when things do come up unexpectedly, we can’t always predict life, right, but if we stick to our routines, we will have better days.
Here is my morning routine.
1. Wake up, thank God, brush my teeth, and get my exercise clothes on.
2. Finish getting Lia ready for school and walk her to school. (We can access the school through our community so it’s not that far of a walk).
3. Continue walking until I hit a mile (20 minutes usually).
4. Drink green tea while reading my Bible study.
5. Pray
6. Get Jayden ready for the day.
7. Take a shower.
8. Start my day.
I haven’t always done this routine. This is recent but I’ve realized that it helps me be calm for the rest of my day. If I don’t walk in the mornings for whatever reason or miss my Bible study, I feel off. This is the routine that works for me to set the tone for the rest of my day.
Do you have a morning routine? If so, I’d love for you to share! Did you find this tip helpful? Share with a friend!
With Love, Heidy
