Now, we go into the movement of trans rights. There are activists and then there are extremists, as always. And extremists take things too far. According to the podcast, J.K. Rowling has been following this movement for a while. And the backlash for Rowling started when she tweeted support for Maya Forstater. Maya lost her job as a tax specialist after she tweeted what people labeled “transphobic” tweets. And then the backlash exploded after she tweeted an article whose headline read, “Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate,” and wrote the following, “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
