James 1:6-8 NIV
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Michele Cushatt writes it was during middle school that she started praying, asking God for wisdom, but at that time, she didn't know what exactly she was praying for. However, she did remember the Pastor preaching about wisdom and saying God promises to give wisdom to those who ask for it. But one has to be ready to receive wisdom when we ask.
James 1:6-8 is pretty straightforward about believing and not doubting when we ask. We cannot expect to receive if we doubt, and God knows when we doubt, He knows our hearts. So, why would He provide wisdom when we are doubting Him?
Since reading the Bible study, I’ve asked for wisdom, but I’ve made sure my heart is ready to receive. I don’t want to doubt God when I ask - I trust Him wholeheartedly because He is all-knowing.
I want to encourage you to do the same if you don’t already ask God for wisdom. Before you ask, make sure your heart is ready to receive. Remember that God already knows what you’ll ask, and He knows what you need. And have faith and know that He will provide.
Are you ready to receive when you ask?
With Love, Heidy
